David A. Clements, MD, owner and solo physician at Beacon Healthcare Associates has made an important decision about his career.

On Monday, April 6, Beacon Healthcare Associates will permanently close for patient care. On Monday, April 13, Dr. Clements will begin seeing patients at Carolina Internal Medicine Associates, PA.

Carolina Internal Medicine Associates is a well-respected practice that is more than 30 years old. Dr. Clements will go over as the tenth physician in the practice. They provide an excellent level of care and make available a number of auxiliary services that enhance patient convenience: full laboratory, x-ray, ultrasound, bone density scan, retinal imaging, echocardiogram and stress testing. They also use electronic medical records which is an asset in providing quality patient care. The office is located on the fourth floor of 445 Biltmore Center, across from St. Joseph’s Hospital. Carolina Internal Medicine Associates is in contract with the following insurance plans: Medicare, most Medicare Advantage plans (including those administered by Aetna, Cigna, Humana, and most by United Healthcare), Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, Medcost, Mission Hospital’s Employee Plan, Wells Fargo TPA Care Partner’s Plan, First Health, Coresource City of Asheville’s Plan and Wellpath. They are out of network with United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna (excluding Mission employees), Crescent (excluding Mission employees), Tricare and Humana. This does not apply to secondary insurance plans administered by these companies -- they are fine.

All patient appointments beginning April 13 have been transferrred from the schedule at Beacon to Dr. Clements' schedule at Carolina Internal. You will be contacted if there is a need to change your appointment. If you don’t have a scheduled appointment and need to see Dr. Clements, simply call 258-0397 to schedule an appointment. Dr. Clements is happy to see any patients who primarily saw Sarah Davis, PA-C.

All patient charts from Beacon Healthcare Associates have been transferred to Carolina Internal Medicine. If you need a copy of your records please contact them.

During the transition time between Monday April 6 and Monday April 13, Beacon patients may reach Dr. Clements through the answering service at 259-5052. For prescription refills, continue to contact your pharmacy and ask them to send your request directly into our prescribing program. The billing office will remain open for several months following up on insurance billing and patient accounts. You may leave a message for them at 254-4899. They will generally return your call within one business day.

Beginning Monday, April 13, contact Dr. Clements at Carolina Internal Medicine Associates at 258-0397. The Beacon answering service will become inactive.
