Gall Bladder
It is a small pear-shape muscular sac that is found at the right lobe of the liver where in the bile secreted by the liver is stored and releases it to the intestine when it is required. It can hold about 50ml or 1.7 oz of fluids. During the storage time of the secreted bile in the gall bladder, it becomes more concentrated for about 5-18 times. Sometimes due to the concentration of the bile in the gall bladder, the substances found in the bile crystallize and forms into stones which is known as gallstones. This is commonly occur to a person aging 40 years old and specifically to those obese and women.
Gallstones
Gallstones are hard, small substance that look like pebble stone develop in the gall bladder. They are formed when the bile inside the gallbladder hardened because of the cholesterol present. Other factor that can cause gallstones is the lack of salt or it is known as BILIRUBIN.
Gallstones are characterized by severe pain in the upper right chest or abdomen, nausea and vomiting, fever, jaundice, abdominal fullness and clay-colored stools. Gallstones are commonly found in most of the patients who have gall bladder cancer. And the direct treatment for gallstones is surgery for those patients who have visible symptoms. But you can have medication as an alternative treatment for your gall stones present in your gall bladder. Chenodeoxycholic acids (CDCA) or ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA or ursodiol) are common medicine given to those patients who have gallstones. These medicines will help in dissolving the cholesterol present in your gall bladder.

Gallbladder Cancer
It is a one of the types of the cancers which affects the sac that holds bile released by the liver. This type of cancer is not known to our community but this disease is common in Central and South America, Central and Eastern Europe, Japan, Northern India, and some Ethnic groups.

Causes
Gallstones are one of the greatest factors giving the patient the higher chance of having cancer. But not all who have gallstones will have a chance of having gall bladder cancer. Aside from gallstones some of the risk factors that causes gall bladder cancer are obesity, age specifically senior citizens, smoking, gender, and ethnicity, typhoid, hormone replacement therapy, gall bladder polyps, pancreas and bile abnormalities, primary sclerosis cholangitis, and family history of the patient.
When the gall bladder cancer is diagnosed at its early stage, there is a big possibility that it will be cured. Surgery is the most common method in treating all the types of cancer by removing the most affected part where in the cancer cells are lying. Same as the gall bladder cancer, when the gall bladder is already affected some of the affected part will be removed. And this part is either the gall bladder alone or the gall bladder and a part of your liver with cancer cells. Gall bladder removal (Cholecystectomy) is the common way in removing the affected gall bladder. Although the gall bladder was removed the liver still continues to release bile to help in digesting fats but lesser amount than the past. Patients can feel uneasy and pains after the surgery because the organs involved is still adapting for their new function. But for the gall bladder cancer which was diagnosed late and it is already in the critical stage, doctors will suggest the patient to undergo chemotherapy or radiation to kill cancer cells.
